Implementing a first-class Quality Management System for Virtue Technologies Ltd
To expand their business in the education sector, Virtue Technologies required ISO 9001 certification.
In 2009, HR Manager Ally Lawson was introduced to the ISO 9001 Standard way of doing things. Infralogics worked with her to design, implement and internally audit the Quality Management System.
The company later secured a place on the (former) BECTA procurement framework, a centralised approved supplier list for ICT suppliers to the education sector. And in June 2017, they “flew through” their recertification to the latest version – ISO 9001: 2015 – at first attempt with no Non-Conformities.

Where did it all begin?
As a first step, Stephen advised a review of the existing key processes against the Standard’s requirements. This delivered a revised Quality Manual.
According to Ally:

These are some of the highlights.
All objectives and tasks were demonstrated using process flow documents. This clarified the workflow throughout the business and instilled company goals and values in everyone’s minds.
With Stephen’s guidance, the company improved existing processes:
- Managing customer service and relationships using Microsoft CRM (and making full use of the Queries section).
- Sign-off, invoicing and customer feedback.
- Six-monthly Internal Audits, annual Quality Management Reviews and continual improvements.
- Staff development and training relevant to company goals.
Continuous improvement is important to Virtue Technologies. Successful Quality Systems never stand still.
Now a trained Internal Auditor, when Ally has a question she picks up the phone and calls Stephen.
